Magalies Park

Magaliesberg accommodation

So, if you have been following my blog for a while you would know that I absolutely love the Hartbeespoort dam. I have been to multiple accommodations in Harties. So, what makes Magalies Park worthy of a whole blog post? They had me at heated pools AND a private jacuzzi!

Hotel Room

Accommodation in Magaliesberg like Magalies Park

Here you are fortunately spoilt for choice. There are loads of self-catering accommodation options in Magaliesberg and near the Hartbeespoort dam. These range from lodges to resorts all depending on your budget. We visited the Magalies Park in August. The preference was to have somewhere to relax in between birthday activities and the Hartbeespoort weather allowed for some fun. If you are looking to visit Magaliesberg Hartbeespoort, do check out my Harties blog for some ideas of what to do in the area. We got up to some ziplining, boat cruising on the Hartbeespoort dam, and of course, my favourite restaurant reviewing! A jam-packed itinerary needed comfortable rest and this Magaliesberg accommodation did not disappoint!

Before I get carried away. The location of the park is Magalies Park Dr, Hartbeespoort, 0216 which is just 45 from Pretoria central!

Self Catering Accommodation Magalies

Magalies Park options

So, the resort has multiple self-accommodation options these range from 1 to 3-bedroom chalets. The current price range is from R1100 to R2500 per night depending on the selected option. However, if you are looking for the room we stayed in then you would select the Hotel room option. We chose this as it was perfect for two people and yes, the jacuzzi! Please note the chalets do not have jacuzzies.

This particular Hotel room had a bath and shower, a big comfortable bed, a kitchen for the perfect self-catering stays. Additionally, a gorgeous outdoor seating area. I made a reel of the room tour on my Instagram so spare 60 seconds to check that out here. The weather in Magaliesberg was very pleasant and allowed us to enjoy most of our free time outside in the jacuzzi.

I personally made my booking through bookingdotcom because there are normally really cool specials on there. You can use this link to see their specials on this particular accommodation. I booked the accommodation at a cheaper price as compared to their website using the above link.

Magalies Park

Positives and not so positives

The room was really clean and comfortable. There is complete privacy, and allows one to just relax and enjoy some downtime. The downside is that the heated pools and restaurant area are a bit far from the rooms. In our case, not a walking distance. So, we had to drive all the way to the other side to get food because the resort is huge! Therefore, if you do not plan on actually cooking, do get some food if you are out before returning to the chalets/ rooms.

What you can expect from accommodations like this near Hartbeespoort Dam

This self-catering accommodation has free-roaming wildlife. So, you can expect to see some bucks outside and monkeys swinging in the trees (not the dangerous ones). And of course, pretty views of the Magaliesberg mountains. This particular park has an on-site spa and big play area for the kids so I would recommend it for the perfect family getaway too!

Magaliesberg accommodation

So, if you’re looking for accommodation in Magaliesberg do check them out. I have been to a lot of accommodations in Magaliesberg that I have fairly enjoyed. However, Magalies resort is the one place thus far that I wouldn’t mind returning to.
